Indian Heritage Society
The Indian Heritage Society was established in the year 1999 to promote yoga and open yoga centres for general public and to do everything to make spiritual studies popular.
The aim and objective of the society is to promote and study the research of all subjects broadly falling under folk, art, handicraft, musicology, popular science and such other subjects which may form part of cultural heritage and folk and community wealth. Under the banner of Indian Heritage Society the Iyengar Yoga Centre “Yogakshema” was built in 2008.
- The first Iyengar Yoga workshop of 40 days for general public and business executives was also organized under the banner of Indian Heritage Society in the year 2001 at “SANSKRITI KENDRA”, M.G. Road, New Delhi - 47.
- Iyengar Yoga workshop for general public was conducted from 29th March to 12th April 2009 at Yogakshema.
- Iyengar Yoga for children workshop was conducted for children of the age group of 3-13 years from 11th – 23rd May 2009 at Yogakshema.
- Iyengar Yoga workshop for our students was conducted from 13th – 15th Nov 2009 at Golf Valley Resort, Tarudhan.
The Society has organised a series of Charity Cultural Events in the form of Musical Recitals titled `YOG SUR AUR SANGEET KA’ by eminent exponents of vocal and instrumental music. The events have been highly acclaimed by the general public.
- First such recital was given by the great Santoor player Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and famous classical singer Shubha Mudgal on 6th April, 2002
- On 29th March 2003, a Musical Evening by renowned Ghazal Singer Jagjit Singh & eminent poet & lyricist Gulzar.
- On 17th July 2004, at Sri Satya Sai International Centre, Delhi by noted Singer Hariharan. The evening was graced by the presence of the then Chairperson of Indian Centre for Cultural Research, Smt. Nazma Heptullah, MP.
- On 1st April 2006 a concert by noted Singer Sh.Daler Mehndi.
